Trust and operating responsibility

Define the requirements for your drone program.

Agree organization policy, access, geographic data handling and implementation responsibilities before rollout.

Name the owner at each control point.

Turn governance requirements into an operating responsibility map.

The program owner sets policy and appoints exception owners. The organization’s access administrator authorizes users and provider boundaries. Operators verify readiness. Reviewers accept delivery evidence. Your security and data owners agree handling requirements and review the implementation evidence.

Geographic Context & Data Governance

GeoNames reference data: 21,166 included city records across 218 unique country/territory codes. Snapshot 2026-06-22; reconciled 2026-10-19.

The catalog supplies city and administrative labels, country/territory codes and timezones for city search and profile location context. Use geographic context to frame mission, site and regional operating requirements; the reference dataset does not establish service availability or operating authority.

  • Included populated places: US/Canada population ≥5,000; elsewhere ≥40,000, or national/first-order administrative capitals ≥10,000. Each counted geography has at least one included city.
  • Define organizational access, sensitive-location handling, geographic boundaries and evidence ownership.
  • Agree retention and residency requirements. Validate implemented controls, hosting locations and contractual commitments before handling restricted data.

Reference data is not universal regulatory coverage, flight authorization, service coverage or a data-residency assurance.

Review the information flow, not just a connector name.

Source record → authorized exchange → receiving workflow → reviewed outcome.

Identify the source of truth, necessary data fields and permitted recipients. Specify authentication, access boundaries, failure handling and the manual fallback. Agree who approves changes, who resolves exceptions and what evidence demonstrates the integration met its acceptance criteria.

  • Purpose and minimum information needed for the exchange.
  • System owners and the people authorized to approve or revoke access.
  • Residency, sensitive-location, retention and evidence requirements.
  • Test scenario, exception owner and acceptance evidence.
